Crystals with Water in them or Enhydro Crystals

Here’s another awesome question from my friend Karen, this time, about Enhydro crystals. She asks:

Enhydros (sp?) Crystal? Have you come across any of these? Can you share more of what they do? I have learned they balance the Divine Masculine/Feminine. Is this correct? Thanks!

Oh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Enhydro crystals. For those that don’t know, they are crystals with water (fluid) inside them. The only way to know if you have an Enhydro (if there is water or fluid present) is if they have something IN the water (usually an air bubble, sometimes sediment of some kind, but most usually air)… or if the fluid is colored as in the photo to the left. Most Enhydro crystals present as clear crystals with clear water, so to see them you turn the crystal and the air bubble (or sediment) moves. If it is sediment it will move down because it is heavier than the water, and if an air bubble, it will move up because it is lighter than the water (imagine the bubble in a carpenter’s level). In the photo above, the fluid in the cavity is golden colored. It is very striking to see such a crystal because you are able to easily see where the fluid is. As in the photograph below, in a clear crystal with clear water, you are only able to “see” the water when the bubble moves.

The sensation I get from these crystals is one of excited possibility…. magic… hidden potential. It’s like finding an unexpected prize or bonus (like buying a coat at a tag sale and years later, discovering a hidden pocket with a diamond ring in it!)

Unfortunately I don’t have the pleasure of coming across a lot of Enhydro crystals in the Arkansas crystal I see as they are fairly rare.

Enhydro crystals have such a feeling of possibility. The energy I experience from an Enhydro crystal is what I would imagine it would feel like to experience the sensation of a baby moving inside you: a fluttery excitement and a feeling of promise and great potential.

Since I haven’t had the opportunity to work with a lot of Enhydro crystals, I asked the Crystal People for their input regarding Karen’s question concerning a balance of feminine and masculine in Enhydro crystals. Here is their answer:

To your question, of a balance of the Divine Masculine/Feminine, I could see how this would be true, yes, in this way: In experiencing the Enhydro as described above, the feeling of potential, a seed, if you will. The seed (potential) requires incubation, going within (feminine) which then requires the masculine energy for the manifestation of the potential, so therein would lie the balance of both Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine to see the birth of this potential. So in working with the energies of the Enhydro crystal, one is working with the Feminine, Masculine and the Divine by engaging with the crystalline energy towards the highest good.

The other miracle in Enhydro crystals is that inside this crystal, which we have established is thousands of years old, there is trapped water (or fluid) which has been there since the crystal’s inception. It’s an unlikely occurrence to begin with, when you imagine the heat and pressure required to create a crystal. To also have present the creation of a cavity in the crystal, which fills with fluid and enough air to create a bubble, which is then also sealed sufficiently with more crystal deposit to prevent the fluid from escaping… it defies logic, and yet it exists. Therein lies the magic. While crystal itself is a link to the ancient past, the presence of water inside the crystal is a further link. To imagine that water is still accessible today which was present millennia before is awe inspiring.

In returning to Karen’s question, water is Feminine and Air is Masculine, so to access the energies of both in one crystal via the Enhydro can be balancing. A crystal also represents both Earth and Fire. They are made OF Earth, IN the Earth and the piezoelectric properties link them with fire, not to mention the heat required to create them. Take the Earth and Fire elements present in all crystal, add the Water and Air principles of the Enhydro crystal and your intention of linking with the Divine (Spirit) and you have all possibilities. In this way an Enhydro crystal encompasses the energy of all five sacred elements (Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit).

What could possibly be better than that!?

I hope this has helped shed some light on this special crystal configuration! If you have questions about other configurations occurring in clear quartz crystal, send me an email or post in the comments below.

  1. I just noticed that some of my Rose Quartz i just got look like a bubble in them that move around. could it be possible that my rose quartz is an Enhydro Crystal? not 1 but 6 or 7 of them. 2 out of the bunch i don’t see the bubble.

    • Genn says:

Hey Shelly! Wow! I suppose it is possible. I haven’t seen or heard of many rose quartz enhydros and to get a batch with so many of them would be even more rare. (Doesn’t mean you don’t have, just stating it is super rare). At any rate, that is exciting news! I hope you enjoy your enhydros!

I have a palm sized clear quartz that I have had for about 20 years. Back then it was milky. About 10years ago, I noticed it was clearing up. It took it about a year to clear almost completely. Just a few days ago, I noticed it had a small moving bubble no bigger than a pepper corn. i have marveled at it everyday. Today I noticed two more even smaller bubbles. I have read that crystals are actually in a sort of suspended animation. But I am in awe of the changes I have seen on just this one crystal. What can you ( or anyone with more knowledge than me) tell me about this?

      • Genn says:

Hey Roz! That’s pretty awesome! I see it as crystals being in all times at once (embodying all of past, present and future in this Now moment). Hard to describe, really, and words aren’t presenting themselves to me easily today… but it could be described like you have read, as a kind of a suspended animation, if you will… you see your crystal had all these features the whole time (cloudiness of the Fairy Frost obscured both the hidden clarity as well as the Enhydro bubbles). Almost as if it presented you with what was needed at the time and as you morphed and grew, it revealed more of itself to you as time went on (and as you became more ready to receive). You can see how having a more “long-term” relationship with a crystal will reveal much more than you might have ever imagined initially. A metaphor for life, also. Thanks for sharing, and enjoy the revelations of your crystal!

I would like to buy a rock with liquid or water in it, does anyone know where I can buy one thank you

    • Genn says:

Hey Pamela! I don’t have any Enhydro crystals, but if you do a Google Search for “enhydro crystal for sale” I am sure you will find many from which to choose. Good luck!

  3. Korine Rose says:

My boyfriend is a rock hound. He has lots of crystal agates, he has a clear quartz crystal with water inside of it, this we know cause you can see the air bubble, it’s about the size of the lid if a chapstic

  4. Govinda says:

    Good evening Glenn,

I have been reading you site with quite a lot of joy since i was not aware that the crystals with a bubble inside are that rare and that there are more people really enjoying these!

I have a couple of these stones and i was wondering if you know where i could sell these.

    looking forward to your reply!

    Govinda

I found one of these bubbles in my amethyst quartz crystal. I have taken a video of it I would love to show you!! I randomly came across your website after finding this Crystal. it is one of the coolest things of come cross in a long time I was hoping you could give me more information on it’s worth…once again thank you so much look forward to hearing back from you.

  6. Natalie D. Davis, R.H. says:

The Crystal Vaults people said this one has a bubble with movement you can see – I really hope it does turn out to be that way… I have never even imagined such a cool concept in my head! What is a Brandberg Amethyst? I can see that it’s quartz with Amethyst growing in it and some Smoky quartz as well. I looked it up in my giant Melody full color encyclopedia, plus Judy Hall’s Crystal Bible, but, how would you explain or describe them? (If you have a blog article on these, you can just link me. I don’t want you to have to post a whole crystal formation education course in the reply sections of your blog pages, lol). Thank you again and again for all this amazing wisdom!

    • Genn says:

LOL!! I think if you have gotten it from Crystal Vaults (they have a lot of information) and also accessed Melody and Judy, you’ll have the same info on them as I would have. I don’t have any really in-depth knowledge of amethyst or the colored crystals, just the clear quartz, mostly. 🙂

With an enhydro that is listed/sold as that it “moves,” how long does it take for the water in it to move when you turn it one direction or the other? Can you see this feature with the naked eye or do you leave it in a position overnight and then notice that it’s moved position after many hours/days?

    • Genn says:

No, actually, you can’t see the water move, you can only see that there IS water by the movement of something IN the water… For example a bubble.

Less commonly, there might be colored ‘water’ (liquid). You might not see it “move”, if the color is uniform, you would just see the presence of the liquid. The first picture in the blog post shows this type of crystal, but also with a bubble (a Google image, man, I would love to have this type of Enhydro in my family!). But, really, without the bubble movement, it is impossible to know whether the color inside is liquid or solid unless you broke the crystal. (Which is an additional meaning for Enhydro crystals, knowledge which can’t be gained without loss!). The other less common object to determine movement would be some sort of sediment.

As for when you should expect to see the movement, you should be able to see the bubble move right away, by turning the crystal. Sometimes it is very subtle, other times, less so. I had a dream last night (!!) of a HUGE Enhydro crystal… the area which had water in it was about the size of a golf ball (!!!) and the bubble like a pea. I was enthralled! So, sometimes you have to just about stand on your head to see the movement, because it depends on the “track” which the bubble follows as it stays on “top” of the water. Obviously, the more clear the crystal, the easier it is to see. Enhydro crystals often have a lot of internal fracturing which make seeing the bubble movement more difficult.

I recently held an Enhydro which I just never could find the bubble or see the movement. Sometimes it is helpful if the person who knows where it is can point out its trajectory.

      I hope this helps!

  8. Natalie D. Davis, R.H. says:

If you come across any of these, please hold one for me and let me know you have it for sale! I will, “adopt,” it instantly!

  9. Karen Adams says:

Genn, thanks for your research, wonderful explanation and chanelling by the crystal people! These crystals are amazing and the picture along with the explanation had the same effect on me; the possibility or potential. The explanation of feminine and masculine further added to the magic of these crystals and now I’m going to manifest one for myself! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Karen
